Are you getting closer to making a move? Here are 3 tips to make sure you're prepared:

  • Organize your paperwork. Your tax documents, pay stubs and bank statements are documents that a mortgage broker needs in order to verify your financial health.
  • Set a budget. Know your total budget, which not only includes the price of the home but also closing costs and fees.
  • Consider post-purchase expenses such as moving fees, security systems and furnishings.

Yvonne was extremely knowledgeable about the entire homebuying process, and prepared us very well for everything that was going to happen. She was always ready and willing to schedule home viewings with us, and work with our schedule. We feel that she went above and beyond what anyone else would have done, and I will explain why. We decided to go look at houses on a Saturday morning with her, and had set up to see 6 or 7 houses that were all much further away than her normal "range" that she works in (but she only mentioned that once, and did not make a big deal about it). So we met her at the first house at 10:00am, and she had a fancy book made for us with information and pictures of all the houses we were going to see, and a schedule that was very well planned and timed. We looked at all the houses, and by 2:00 we had finally finished. We didn't really love any of the houses we saw, so we went home to think about it. Later that night, at 8:30, we found an awesome home that was just listed that day, while we were looking through the MLS she auto-sends us. So we texted her (because we felt it was too late to call) and asked if we could set up a viewing soon, before someone puts in an offer (because homes were going under contract very quickly). She called us back within minutes, and said she called the listing agent to set up a viewing, and convinced her that we were very interested in the home, and said she could leave her house and meet us there in one hour! So we met her at the house at 9:30 pm with flashlights, and looked at the house with her, and we loved it, so she sat there with us and talked through the next part of the process for a long time, and by 11:00 pm we were comfortable with all the information she had given us. So she went home to make and send us a contract to sign, so we could put in an offer. Then she stayed up while we read through the huge contract (asking questions about many things) and e-signed it, and finally sent it back to her at 3:00am and she sent it to the sellers agent. Later, she had very helpful advice during negotiations, and the lawyer she prefers to work with was just as good, and was always willing to talk and explain things. They were both very professional! Yvonne was always very honest, even if that meant the answer to my question was "I don't know" she would follow that with "I will find out" and she would! She has even contacted us multiple times after the closing to see how things are going, and make sure we are happy in our new home. We would (and WILL) recommend her to anyone looking for a buying agent, and when the time comes to sell, she will be my first call.
